Religion or Relationship

Are you a professing Christian? If you are, ask yourself this question “Do I have religion or do I have a relationship with the Lord?”

If you have a good and healthy relationship with a spouse, what things make that relationship good?  What if your spouse was married to you but never spent time with you or expressed love to you? What if they ignored you except for just one or two hours a week? Would you feel that you had a real and good relationship? What if you loved your spouse but they did not love you? It is possible to be married but not have a relationship. It is possible to be married and not experience the love of your spouse.

Being a Christian is about having a relationship with the Lord. It is not just about being loved by God but it is also about showing your love to Him. God’s love is constant and never fails. Our love for the Lord should also be constant and we need to stay in relationship with Him all of the time. If we just go through the motions and give Him one or two hours a week by attending “church” then we are being religious and don’t have a true relationship!

Religion is like a marriage without love!

My desire is to serve the Lord and people and to show them the great love that the Lord has for them. I want to be able to encourage others to know, love and serve the Lord.
